Who is Eligible for a Free Blue Bin?  

• Cambridge residents in residential buildings with 6 units or less. We replace and recycle broken bins only.
• Non-profit businesses with 5 employees or less

If you live in a building with 7 units or more, your building is eligible for large recycling "toters" on wheels. Click here.

Start with one bin and order additional bins if necessary. Do not place paper or containers in plastic bags.

Place paper together in a paper bag that is on top of or beside your blue bin. Place rinsed glass, metal and plastic containers loose in the bin. Flatten and cut cardboard to 3ft X 3ft or fold, flatten and stuff in a paper bag. Do not place paper or containers in plastic bags.

Residents in buildings with 6 units or less may be pick up bins between 8:30-5pm at 147 Hampshire or at the Recycling Drop-Off Center during open hours: Tuesday/Thursday 4-7:30pm and Saturday 9am-4pm.

  - Are a new resident...Welcome!
  - Need broken bins replaced... No problem, we'll replace them.
  - Had a bin stolen... Write your address in black marker on the new bin and bring it in by 6pm on collection day
