The Cambridge DPW has recently instituted a graffiti removal program. When a citizen calls the DPW to report graffiti on private property, an inspector is sent out to examine the damage. If it is determined that the DPW can confidently remove the graffiti, then a waiver form is sent to the owner of the property. Upon receipt of the signed waiver, a crew is scheduled to remove the graffiti.

The graffiti surface is pre-soaked with a biodegradable chemical and then the power washer which includes both a hot steam mechanism and a 300 hundred gallon high pressure water hose is used to safely remove the graffiti.
