Remedial Sewer Contract
City of Cambridge Sewer Maintenance Program

Project Overview  
  The City of Cambridge Department of Public Works maintains an annual contract for the repair and reconstruction of sewers and storm drains throughout the City.
   
Why is this Contract Necessary?  
  These improvements help ensure that the City's sanitary and drainage systems function properly.
   
What is Being Done to Fix the Problem?  
 

This contract is used complete such work as catch basin replacement, sewer main repairs, and manhole replacement. The contract is also used to remove illicit connections, when discovered, and to separate common manholes.

   
Who is Responsible for the Project?  
  The D'Allessandro Corporation is performing the current remedial reconstruction contract work. This contract is managed by Department of Public Works staff as part of collection system maintenance.
   
What is the Project Schedule?  
  This is a year-long contract that is bid out annually. The repairs done through the remedial contract generally take several days to one week to complete, though more complicated problems may take several weeks to repair.
   
Who Will Address My Concerns?  
 

The Department of Public Works is committed to managing this construction in the most effective way possible. Gary Agnello, the City’s Resident Engineer, will be on site daily to ensure the best construction practices are observed.
