Walden Street Bridge
Commonwealth of Massachusetts- Bridge Reconstruction Project

Project Update 3/27/07

MassHighway's contractor is clearing trees behind the Nstar substation because it is necessary to create space for the contractor to build ramps for the temporary pedestrian bridge and to build the retaining wall at the NStar substation, which will be done at a later time in the contract.

Given that there is a 5' difference in height between the end of the temporary bridge and sidewalk on Walden Street, 60' of ramping and level landings are necessary to connect the temporary bridge to the sidewalk and meet disability codes.

We apologize for the inconvenience this work is causing, and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns or queries.

If you have any questions, please contact Bill Deignan by e-mail or by phone at (617) 349-4632
