Project
Overview |
| |
During
summer 2007, the City’s
contractor, W. T. Rich Company
Inc., began renovating the War
Memorial Building and Field
House at Cambridge Rindge and
Latin High School on Cambridge
Street. This project includes:
- Demolishing the interior
of the building;
- Constructing new locker
rooms, office space, and athletic
facilities;
- Renovating the existing
gym and swimming pools;
- Installing new mechanical,
plumbing, fire protection,
and electrical systems;
- Replacing the roof, windows
and doors, and re-pointing
exterior masonry; and,
- Reconstructing sidewalks/
pathways, ramps, and exterior
landscaping elements.
In order to complete the building
renovation, the contractor has
closed the sidewalks and the
parking lane in front of the
War Memorial Facility. All pedestrians
will be required to cross Cambridge
Street using the crosswalks
at Roberts Road and Trowbridge
Street.
Both travel lanes will remain
open, as will metered parking
in front of Skenderian’s,
Mona Lisa, Harvard Pizza, and
Darwin’s.
