Sidewalk and Street repair
The DPW is responsible for the repair or reconstruction of streets and sidewalks in order to ensure that all public right of ways are safe and accessible at all times. If you would like to report a street or sidewalk defect, please call the Operations Center at (617) 349-4800, (617) 349-4846 (or email us) and leave your name, phone number and the address of the defect.

To report potholes, please call (617) 349-4854 or email us. Please leave the street address closest to where the pothole is located

Street construction information
During construction season (March through December), the DPW issues construction updates at least once per week. Click here for the most recent construction notices. For questions on construction, please call (or email) the Operations Center at (617) 349-4846.

Street light repair
Report the address of the light pole or the light pole number (two or three digit number located on the pole usually within 6-8 feet up from the base) to the City’s Electrical Department at 349-4925. They will report the information to N-Star Electric.
