When it is necessary to close a street to traffic due to construction, you must apply to the Public Works Street Closure Department for a permit prior to submitting a Temporary Street Closing Permit Application to the Traffic Department. It must be submitted 5 business days prior to the starting date along with a detailed Traffic Control Plan. The Traffic Department will need 72 hours to review the Application and Traffic Control Plan. Also, the following is required:
* The residents and businesses must be notified in writing by mail or leafleting the area.
* A police detail must be on site during working hours.
* Area around construction site must be kept clean at all times.
* All catch basins in the area must be covered with filter fabric.
