Automated Meter Reading System Upgrade
In our continuing effort to improve your utility service, the Cambridge Water Department needs to update the Automated Meter Reading (AMR) System at your business or residence. Mass Installation, Inc. (MII) has been contracted by the City of Cambridge to perform the Meter Transmitting Unit (MTU) replacements. MII will be sending notifications, with their logo pictured above, to set up an appointment to replace your MTU - PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS NOTICE. The appointment will typically take less than one hour and will be scheduled at your convenience.
The MTU is the device connected to your water meter which transmits water meter reads to the Water Department. Typically, MTUs are located in your basement or attached to the outside of the building.
When a representative from MII arrives at your home or facility for your scheduled appointment. MII representatives will have both official Cambridge Water and Mass Installation identification. Do not let anyone into your property without proper identification.
It is anticipated that this effort will be completed by September 2018.
