Fresh Pond Reservation's Volunteer Stewards
Join a select group of dedicated, energetic, and plant savvy Super Weeders. Meet your neighbors, learn about urban plants and watershed protection, and help out with natural resources monitoring and restoration. No experience necessary! Training provided by plant conservation experts at New England Wildflower Society, mentorship by returning volunteers. Tools provided by The Cambridge Water Department and Friends of Fresh Pond Reservation. We make gardening in the forests and fields fun! Our current schedule is:
Wednesday Evenings (until the shrinking daylight forces us to stop!):
- September 4th, 5:45-7:15pm
- September 11th, 5:45-7:15pm
- September 18th, 5:45-7:00pm
And Thursday Mornings from 10:00am-Noon through October (cancelled in the event of rain)
Occasionally, additional volunteer projects, such as purple loosestrife monitoring and native species plantings, will also be scheduled. See our current volunteer schedule below. Unless otherwise noted, we meet at the volunteer trailer in the Water Department parking lot. To join, and for more information, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (617) 349-6489.
