Fresh Pond Creatures at the HONK! Parade 2015
March with our Fresh Pond Creatures contingent on Sunday, October 11th in the HONK! Parade, a festival of brass bands from all over the United States.
Meet at the corner of Herbert and Day Streets, Somerville (Davis Square), at the mustering time of 11:00 a.m. and look for “Fresh Pond Creatures.” At 12 noon we march from Davis to Harvard Square where we disband into October Fest at about 1 PM.
Families and individuals are welcome to join Fresh Pond Creatures to help celebrate the ecosystem at Fresh Pond Reservation. You may use scooters or bicycles or may choose to walk. Strollers are welcome too!
We have costumes and masks to lend to you during the parade or you can help hold one of our banners. This year we’ll be marching in the parade dressed as: Giant Great Blue Herons (birds), a Peregrine Falcon, Sunflowers, Purple Coneflowers, Rabbits, Snapping Turtles, Butterflies, Blue Gill Fish, Dragonflies and Red-winged Blackbirds.
