In the fall, the Reservation’s woods and meadows offer a visual banquet of purple, white, and yellow flowers – the goldenrods and asters. During this workshop led by Elizabeth Wylde, we will start by looking at the flower structure of the Aster Family, a large plant group that includes most of our fall-blooming wildflowers. Then we will use live cuttings from the Reservation to help us identify the many species of goldenrods and asters that grow here. We will finish by walking to the nearby Kingsley Park bio-swale to look at and identify some of these beautiful wildflowers in the field. Wear shoes for walking off-path and long pants. To register and for important parking information, email Catherine Pedemonti at friendsoffreshpond@yahoo.com.

September program fliers are available in the Ranger Station at the Water Department.
