Kids' Walks have returned for the Fall of 2014, from 10-11:30am every Friday!

*Rain or thunder cancels*

We meet from

Sept 12 - October 3 AT MAHER PARK (650 Concord Ave, shares entrance with Neville Place)

and

October 10 - November 21 AT THE RANGER STATION (250 Fresh Pond Parkway)

Bring more adventure into your Friday mornings: join us on Kids' Walks! We'll discover plants and animals living among us at Fresh Pond Reservation, and more. Activities include bird watching, leaf pile jumping, digging in mulch, leaf rubbings, book reading, and gathering treasure.  We hope you can come play!

Walks are free and open to all, though activities led by Water Department staff and volunteers are usually geared towards ages 6 and younger (with their adults in tow).  The walks run from 10:00-11:30am.  Through October 3rd, we meet at Maher Park at Neville Place, 650 Concord Ave.  Buses #74 and #78 stop right by the park.  For the rest of October and November, we meet at Ranger Jean's Station (located around the side corner of the Water Dept. building at 250 Fresh Pond Parkway), to better take advantage of Kingsley Park!

Parking for cars with Cambridge stickers is available at both Maher Park and at the main parking lots at the Water Dept building.  Parking passes for non-residents will be available for the mornings, too.  Rain, hail, thunder or severe heat cancels the morning's walk.  Please bring your own snacks and drinks and come dressed in clothes you can get a bit dirty!

Interested in education?  Do you like sharing nature with younger generations?  We love volunteers to help with our programs!
