Emergency Response Planning
The Cambridge Water Department has extensive Emergency Action Plans to help prevent emergencies that may effect the water supply and/or surrounding residents. The Watershed Division ensures that both the Emergency Action Plan and Hazardous Materials Emergency Response plan are enacted.
The Cambridge Water Department is currently updating the Emergency Action Plan and the Cambridge Watershed Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Atlas, both expected to be completed in early 2014.
The 2003 Emergency Action Plan, updated in 2006, outlines the operating procedures used in normal and emergency conditions to ensure dam stability and integrity.
The Comprehensive Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Plan Update, issued in 2006, outlines the steps taken to prevent hazardous materials releases and to guide clean-up efforts when needed.
