Natural Resources Restoration

Under guidance from the Fresh Pond Master Plan and various steering committees, the City of Cambridge has spent considerable time and resources in improving water and habitat quality in the Fresh Pond watershed through on-the-ground restoration projects.  Focused efforts in Fresh Pond Reservation can be seen in recent projects completed in Black's Nook, Lusitania Meadow, and the on-going Glacken Slope and Lusitania Woodlands restorations.

Using the approach applied in Fresh Pond Reservation, the City will start to identify and scope potential water resources restoration projects in Cambridge-owned watershed lands in 2013 and future years.  As part of this effort, the CWD has begun an invasive species investigation to help identify high priority locations for restoration.
