DCR to Close Lanes in Storrow Drive Tunnel to Continue Rehabilitation Work

The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will continue roadwork on the Storrow Drive Tunnel, begun in the fall of 2013, May 3-11. On Monday, May 6, DCR will close Storrow Drive westbound at Charles Circle exit, overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., to allow for the continuation of necessary maintenance work on roof of the Storrow Drive Tunnel. This work will continue each night (between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.) until Saturday, May 11 at 5 a.m. For that stretch of time, traffic will be diverted across the Longfellow Bridge to Memorial Drive.

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), an agency of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, oversees 450,000 acres of parks and forests, beaches, bike trails, watersheds, dams, and parkways. Led by Commissioner Edward M. Lambert Jr., the agency’s mission is to protect, promote, and enhance our common wealth of natural, cultural, and recreational resources.
