Location:
Cambridge Common Park | Waterhouse St & Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02138

A performer playing xylophone as part of Xaviera Simmons' performance Number 22 (overlay)
Cambridge Arts invites you to Number 22 (Overlay), a musical performance, orchestrated by Simmons and performed by area musicians, featuring vibraphones, clarinets, violins, sitars, among other instruments. Scattered throughout the park, each musician will play a unique set as a perceived soundtrack for a past-future international conference of women. Performances vary and are affiliated with Simmons' exhibition and research at the nearby Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study | Harvard University. The exhibition, Overlay, is on view at the Johnson-Kulukundis Family Gallery at 8 Garden Street until July 1.

This performance is part of Common Exchange, a multi-faceted art project that celebrates and examines the Cambridge Common following it's recent renovation. Common Exchange will run throughout the spring, summer, and fall of this year, and includes performances, installations, exhibitions, and a special-edition newspaper.
