6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday, April 13, 2015

Location:
Harvard Art Museums, 32 Quincy Street

The Berthouville Treasure is a rare find of ancient Roman silver objects that were offered as votives to Mercury. Many of these objects have recently been conserved and are now in an exhibition at the Getty Villa, Ancient Luxury and the Roman Silver Treasure from Berthouville (through August 17, 2015). Kenneth Lapatin, associate curator of antiquities at the J. Paul Getty Museum, examines various aspects of the treasure, which includes some of the finest surviving Roman silver vessels and statuettes.
