One of the casualties of the latest blizzard was the "Composer Focus: Ligeti" concert (scheduled for last Sunday, the 15th). Join Composer Focus for a rescheduled concert, in two parts.
Sunday, February 22nd, 7:00 pm
Pianist Paul Jacobs will be performing Ligeti's monumental (and fun) Musica Ricercata, along with a couple of the incredible etudes. Also on the program, Ligeti's solo cello piece and duos by Bartok, a primary influence of Ligeti's.
Saturday, February 28th, 8:00 pm
In a study of contrasts, you will hear a quartet by Haydn (No. 45 in E), played by the up-and-coming Heimat Quartet, as well as excerpts from Ligeti's mind bending Quartet No. 2.
