On April 17-18, the Longy’s Opera Department and the Longy Conservatory Orchestra will present “The Saint of Bleecker Street.” The three-act opera by Gian Carlo Menotti, for which he was awarded his second Pulitzer Prize, is set in a neighborhood of Italian immigrants in New York City. The fully staged performance will be directed by Donna Roll, chair of Longy’s Opera Department, and the Longy Conservatory Orchestra will perform under Music Director Geoffrey McDonald.
