Established in Affirmative Action Plan. Created by Executive Order,1992. Purpose:
Serve as an information link among City departments and constituencies concerned with Affirmative Action (AA) and fair labor/employment practices. Discuss developments in the law which impact the City’s Affirmative Action efforts. Advise City Manager, AA Director and others on how legal changes affect current AA initiatives. Provide assistance to the City Affirmative Action Director in updating and monitoring progress of the City’s Affirmative Action Plan. Provide assistance to the City in its recruitment efforts. Provide other advice and assistance to the City Manager to further the City’s afirmative action efforts.

Meetings
The Affirmative Action Advisory Committee, (AAAC) regularly meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m., at Cambridge City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Avenue. Meetings are usually held in the Ackermann room on the second floor. Meetings may be rescheduled if the regular meeting date falls on a religious holiday. Meeting Agendas will be posted within the meeting date listing on the city website calendar.
