Help shape your community through Public Art!
In December, the Cambridge Arts Council (CAC) continues its highly successful Public Art Youth Council (PAYC) program, a collective of teenagers representing Cambridge’s 13 diverse neighborhoods as ambassadors for public art. PAYC members are recruited and hired to work under the guidance of Public Art Program staff to create activities and events that invite fellow youth to deepen their understanding of and engagement with public art.

PAYC created the Chalk Day event to promote public art within the CRLS community. The night before, PAYC decorated the school grounds in order to suprise students for the event. Colored chalk was given to students, inviting them to participate in expressing their ideas about the meaning of public art. PAYC also used this event to promote WIND, WATER, LIGHT & SOUND their temporary public art project for River Festival.
