License Commission General Hearing

Policy               Notice is hereby given that the Board of License Commissioners will meet with  regards to additions, amendments, and changes to the City of Cambridge Taxi Cab Rules & Regulations. 

            The following topics will be heard before the board:

1.      Meter rate increase to $5.20 1^st Mile,  $3.20 EA. ADDITIONAL MILE, $.40 EA. 1/8 MILE, $ 28.00 PER HR. wait time after 5 minutes, Tunnel  & Bridge Fees Including  Tunnel Exit Toll;

2.      Requirement that all Cambridge taxi’s accept credit cards (specific details available in the License Commission);

3.      Amendment to the Vintage Year Rule: Cabs must be no more than five years old or less;

4.      Allowing other vehicles besides sedans, such as vans and SUV’s, which must be four years old or less;

5.      Re-training of all drivers who did not attend the Cambridge Taxi School. Drivers   will attend a one night class upon renewal of their hackney license.
