1. All figures collected between April 1998 and May 1998. All figures reflect employment within the City of Cambridge only. Whenever possible, totals are based on Full Time Equivalents (FTEs). Part time workers were counted as 0.5 FTEs.
2. The Cambridge Public Health Commission was created in 1996 from agencies of the Cities of Cambridge and Somerville. The figure given reflects 1998 Cambridge employment only. In 1996 many of these same positions were counted as City of Cambridge employees.
3. During 1997 an act of the legislature dissolved Middlesex County and transferred County functions to the Commonwealth.
