SOMBWA Certification
Each year state agencies purchase millions of dollars worth of products and services from businesses certified as minority or women-owned. To participate in these opportunities, each business must be certified through the State Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance (SOMWBA).
Certification is given to businesses that are at least 51% minority or women-owned. If your business is located in Cambridge, you can learn more about this certification process at a free information session given by SOMWBA and sponsored by the Cambridge Community Development Department, Economic Development Division.
The information session will present the requirements for state certification of minority (MBE) and women business enterprises (WBE) and discuss the guidelines for the US Department of Transportation’s (US DOT) disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) program.
Professional staff will be available to answer questions.
To
the schedlued for the next information session, go to Business Development Workshops.
