Current Affordable Housing Opportunities

CASCAP, Inc. is developing 24 affordable homeownership units at 125 Harvard Street (Printshop), near Kendall Square. These units will be available to income eligible first-time homebuyers through the City of Cambridge Homebuyer Program. Preferences for Cambridge residents and families with children apply. All units are subject to resale, limited equity, and primary residence restrictions Applications will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis. - Applications received by June 22, 2009 by 7:00 P. M. will receive first review and priority in this marketing. Applications received after June 22 will be considered on a first come, first served basis.
The Community Development Department is establishing a Homeownership Resale Pool.

In order to better match buyers to affordable units being sold by the current owner, the Department is creating a new system where a single application will enter households into the Homeownership Resale Pool.

Applications will be reviewed for unit size eligibility. Preference will be given to Cambridge residents and families with children. When units become available, we will identify the next qualified applicant based on income, assets and household size eligibility. Not all applicants will be eligible for all units. Currently, the Housing Authority is seeking senior applicants 62 years and older, for studio units available at the Millers River Apartments at located 15 Lambert Street, the Lyndon B. Johnson Apartments located at 150 Erie Street, and the Daniel F. Burns Apartments located at 30-50 Churchill Avenue. For more information call 617/494-4040.
