Tour of the New Main Library

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Saturday, May 5, 2012

Location:
Main Library
449 Broadway
Cambridge

We are thrilled that the Main Library has received accolades from its users and the architectural community since its grand opening in 2009. As the recipient of over 12 awards, including the Boston Society of Architects’ prestigious Harleston Parker Award as the most beautiful building in the greater Boston area, our silver LEED certified library is not to be missed!

We are pleased to offer tours to classes, youth groups of all ages, community organizations, professional associations, and individuals.

Tours for young people can be arranged by contacting the Children’s Room (617-329-4038) or Teen Room (617-349-4027) . Adult groups should contact the Administration Office (617-349-4032) to arrange a tour of the Main Library. We will find a mutually agreeable time and will tailor the tour to the unique needs of your group.

Individuals can learn more about the “green” aspects of the library as well as the art and architecture of both the glass and stone buildings on a docent led tour on Saturdays at 10:00AM. There is no charge for these tours but registration is required. Please register by sending an email to cpldocents@gmail.com. Please complete your registration by noon on the day before the tour. Your email should include the date of the Saturday you would like to attend, your name, and the number in your party. Please also include a phone number or email address so that we can inform you in case of an emergency tour cancellation.
