Description

As part of the City’s Street and Sidewalk Reconstruction program, Pearl Street is scheduled to be reconstructed between Granite Street and Massachusetts Avenue. In February 2014, a community meeting was held to discuss the design for Pearl Street. The City is anticipating that this work will begin in the Summer/Fall 2016. Due to the large scope of work, the project will be divided up into 2 phases. One phase will consist of roadway and sidewalk reconstruction on Pearl Street between Granite Street and Erie Street and the other phase will consist of roadway and sidewalk reconstruction between Erie Street and Massachusetts Avenue.

Over the past few months, we have spent time analyzing the suggestions that were brought forth to staff at the first community meeting, and have performed parking and traffic studies on Pearl Street. On Wednesday, June 25 at 6:30pm in the Amigos School cafeteria (located at 15 Upton Street), the Community Development Department and the Department of Public Works will be hosting a second community meeting that will be focused around the design phase of this project. We encourage you to attend to provide input as to what you would like to see.
