Description

Sarah Wellons, a Harvard Astronomer will present a lecture exploring the known and the unknown about the Cosmos. Topic:  "The Milky Way: Our Home in the Universe" If you've ever traveled to the Southern hemisphere, you have probably seen the beautiful stripe of stars running across the sky at night - those are our neighbors here in the Milky Way!  But how much do we know about the galaxy we call home, and other galaxies?  This month, we take a look at galactic structure and composition, including billions of stars, planets, dust, gas, and even a supermassive black hole and dark matter! Join us for a lecture on the ever changing cosmos. Program is free and open to the public.
