    • Friends of Fresh Pond Reservation: Early Migration Bird Walk

      Fresh Pond Reservation, Cambridge, MA

Many birds stop at Fresh Pond to rest and eat while heading south for the winter. In early September, we may see migrating warblers in their non-breeding plumage, herons, and several species of ducks. We also might see summer residents that will soon be leaving, and birds such as woodpeckers that stay year-round. Beginners are welcome. We have binoculars to lend and will show you how to use them. This is a free Friends of Fresh Pond-sponsored event; please register with Elizabeth Wylde at friendsoffreshpond@yahoo.com or call 617-349-6489 and leave your name and phone number. Important parking information will be given to you upon registration.
