National Night Out Aug. 4 at Rindge Field & Riverside Press Park
The North Cambridge Crime Task Force will sponsor National Night Out (NNO) Tuesday, Aug. 4 as part of a nationwide crime and drug prevention awareness event. NNO brings together Cambridge citizens from diverse ages, income and ethnic backgrounds. This event involves citizens, city officials, law enforcement agencies, businesses, neighborhood and service organizations. It continues the tradition of community and police partnership with a full day of activities for the family. Through this event, we hope to strengthen neighborhood spirit and heighten awareness of crime.
Two events will be held at Rindge Field (rear of Peabody School) in North Cambridge:
Morning Out – 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
School and summer camp children primarily attend this event. The Cambridge Police Department, Fire and Middlesex County Sheriff’s departments host presentations and displays.
National Night Out 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Participants enjoy a community cookout, demonstrations, amusements, raffles, pony rides, and a basketball competition. This year, there will be an exotic reptile and amphibian presentation from Skin and Scales as well as horse and pony rides from Ridge Valley Stables. Just for Fun will provide amusement rides.
