Disability Reframed: A Community Film Series Saturday, Aug. 22

8/19/2009

Enjoy a FREE matinee at 2 p.m. in the air-conditioned Citywide Senior Center, 806 Mass. Ave, featuring The Station Agent, a 2003 comedy/drama by Thomas McCarthy. The movie is about a man born with dwarfism who moves into an abandoned train station in rural New Jersey for a life of solitude after his only friend dies. But there he meets a chatty hot dog vendor and a woman dealing with her own personal loss, and the story takes a different twist.

The film will be followed by a lively and engaging discussion, moderated by Stan Eichner. Out of consideration for people with environmental illness or multiple chemical sensitivity, please refrain from using perfume or other scented products.  This film series is sponsored by Cambridge Commission for Persons with Disabilities and the Department of Human Service Programs.
