Dedication Ceremony to Prince Hall and Cambridge Carnival International
Please join us on Saturday, September 12, at 12pm for the dedication ceremony as we honor the birth of Prince Hall, as well as present the laying of the foundation for the monument. The ceremony will take place on historic Cambridge Common, and will be followed by a reception at 1pm, at the First Church Congregational, 11 Garden Street in Cambridge. The unveiling of the monument has been postponed to November, and an announcement of the exact date and details will be sent in the weeks ahead. I hope you will join us for the formal unveiling later this fall as we continue to pay homage to an unsung hero.
Also, if you are going to be in Cambridge for the dedication, on Sunday, September 13 from 12pm to 7pm, Cambridge will be hosting this year’s Cambridge Carnival International, a Caribbean style festival and parade rooted in African traditions. This 17th annual event, held in Central and Kendall Squares, offers an elaborate costume parade, live music, fun, and laughter for the whole family, including great food.
