Health Dept to Offer Free H1N1 Vaccine to Children & Pregnant Women Thursday

On Thursday, Nov. 19, the Cambridge Public Health Department will offer free H1N1 flu vaccine to Cambridge residents and workers who are:

* Age 6 months through 18 years.

*  Pregnant.

*  Parents or caregivers of infants (under 6 months).

The vaccination clinic will be held from 5-8 p.m. at the Cambridge Hospital, 1493 Cambridge Street.

While there is no charge to the public for flu vaccine, people are encouraged to bring their insurance cards with them to the clinic. The Health Department is able to bill insurance companies, which helps offset program costs.

In the coming weeks, the H1N1 flu vaccine will be offered to children in Cambridge public and independent schools through the department's school health program.  Finally, additional Cambridge H1N1 flu clinics for adults and children will be scheduled when more vaccine shipments are received.

This information is also available on the Health Department's recorded FluLine, 617-665-3855.
