Help for Haiti

2/12/2010

In the aftermath of the tragic earthquake disaster in Haiti, the City of Cambridge has put together this information page for residents and others who have been directly or indirectly affected by this incident. As more information is obtained, we will be adding it to this page.

Currently the Cambridge Health Alliance has five locations where patients can be referred to get enrolled:
• Cambridge Hospital
• Somerville Hospital
• Whidden Hospital
• 101 Station Landing
• Malden Family Medical Center

All locations have staff that speak Haitian Creole or have access to Haitian Creole interpreters. These offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., and walk-ins are welcome during these hours.  For more information or to schedule an appointment for a specific time, patients can call 1-877-637-2273 to speak to one of CHA's Haitian Creole speaking financial counselors.

SAVE THE DATE: Walk for Haiti Saturday, March 27 at Noon
St. Paul’s Church, 29 Mt. Auburn St., Cambridge

The Urban Walk for Haiti committee invites the greater community to join them on March 27 for their annual event to raise money and awareness for Haiti through the Boston-based organization Partners In Health (PIH) - www.pih.org.  Now in its seventh year, the Urban Walk for Haiti has brought together students, activists, religious organizations, high schools, colleges and others for a three-mile scenic walk around the Charles River and an afternoon of Haitian music, culture and crafts. All funds raised directly support the initiatives of Partners In Health and its extensive network of skilled Haitian medical professionals and accompagnateurs in various sites throughout Haiti. For more information, visit: www.walkforhaiti.org.
