Spring Bike Tour May 22. Also See More on Go Green Month
The Cambridge Bike Committee will host its Spring 2010 Bike Tour on Saturday, May 22. Please arrive at Cambridge Common by 10:15 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. departure. No rain date. Heavy rain cancels. Announcements regarding rain will be posted at www.cambridgebikes.org.
Join the Cambridge Bicycle Committee for a leisurely ride as part of the city's annual GoGreen Month activities. The theme of this spring's bike tour is public art in Cambridge. The ride, which will be escorted by Cambridge Police Department's Bike Patrol is 12 miles, and will take about two hours. It will include two stops for brief theme-related talks and a stop at Lechmere Canal Park for free refreshments. After the break, we'll lead those interested back an additional 3 miles to the starting point at the Cambridge Common.
There is no registration or charge for the tour — just show up and have fun! It is suggested that you wear a helmet and bring some water. Also, please make sure before you arrive that your bicycle is in good working order. We will have a mechanic to help with any emergencies during the ride (e.g., unanticipated flat tires), but we won’t have facilities for major repairs.
