Each year, the City of Cambridge offers scholarships to eligible Cambridge high school seniors and others pursuing higher education. Thanks to the generous support of many area residents and businesses who donate to the Scholarship Program, the City awarded 39 scholarships of $2,500 each earlier this year.

The City Scholarship program is open to all Cambridge residents.  In order to be eligible, applicants must be attending or have received acceptance to attend an educational institution beyond the high school level prior to the time for payment of the scholarship award.  This is a one-time scholarship in an effort to give more eligible applicants an opportunity to receive some financial assistance. Award recipients are selected based on a number of criteria including school and community involvement, work experience, aspirations and goals, financial need, unusual personal circumstances, etc.

If you know of a deserving student, please encourage him or her to apply.  Applications can be found on the Finance Department home page and at Cambridge City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Avenue.  For more information, contact the Finance Department at 617-349-4220 or via e-mail:

To make a contribution to the City Scholarship Program, mail a check payable to the City of Cambridge Scholarship Fund to the City of Cambridge, PO Box 2005, Cambridge, MA  02139.
