Cambridge Area Road Closures Sunday May 1 Walk For Hunger

Several Boston/Cambridge area roads will close either fully or partially to accommodate the approximately 40,000 walkers taking part in the Project Bread Walk for Hunger on Sunday, May 1.  Parking restrictions also will be in effect in certain areas.

Road Closings

MassPike/Interstate 90 westbound, Exit 17/Newton Centre (Sunday, May 1,  10 a.m. - 5 p.m.)                       

Charlesgate West at Beacon St.  Charlesgate East at Commonwealth Ave. (inbound),  Boston (Sunday, May 1,  6:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.)

Greenough Boulevard, North Beacon St. to Arsenal St., Cambridge (Sunday, May 1, 8:15 a.m. - 4 p.m.)

Memorial Drive, both directions Between Western Ave. & Fresh Pond Parkway, Cambridge (Sunday, May 1,  9 a.m. - 7 p.m.)

Memorial Drive eastbound, Right Lane on Reid Overpass to DeWolfe Boathouse, Cambridge. (Sunday, May 1,  10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.)

Memorial Dr eastbound.  No right turn from BU Bridge. No access from under Reid Overpass, Cambridge (Sunday, May 1, 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.)

North Beacon Street, right lane, Soldier’s Field Road to Greenough Boulevard, Boston to Watertown (Sunday, May 1,  7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.)

Parking Restrictions

Riverside Boat Club, Cambridge (Saturday – Sunday,  April 30 - May 1,  8 a.m. Saturday - 8 p.m. Sunday)

Cambridge Boat Club, Cambridge (Sunday, May 1,  1 a.m. - 8 p.m.)

Magazine Beach Horseshoe Driveway, Cambridge (Sunday, May 1, 5 a.m. - 8 p.m.)

Charles River Road, Galen Street to basketball courts, Watertown (Sunday, May 1, 5 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
