Community Bike Ride – Musical Cambridge Saturday, May 21
The Cambridge Bicycle Committee is gearing up for a great Spring 2011 bicycle ride on Saturday May 21! We’re meeting at 10 a.m. at Cambridge Common in Harvard Square. The ride departs at 10:30 a.m. sharp and will last approximately two hours. No rain date. In case of heavy rain, the ride will be canceled. The theme of this ride is music, particularly music's role in Cambridge history. In addition to mapping dozens of sites associated with musicians and performances, several points on our ride will feature live music. You can expect everything from classical music to progressive jazz. The musical highlight will be a free concert during our mid-ride rest stop. WMBR station manager and DJ, Joe Graham (JoeG) has arranged a performance by Air Traffic Controller, the 2010 Winner of the Boston Music Conference. This is a ride not to be missed! This ride is appropriate for riders of all ages -- it will be at an easy pace and riders will be accompanied by Cambridge Police Officers on bikes. This ride is organized by the Cambridge Bicycle Committee, with support from the Cambridge Police Department, the Community Development Department, Public Works Department and several local company sponsors (see website).
