Calling all artists, performers, and cultural organizations!  Applications for the 2012/2013 Cambridge Arts Council Grant Program are now available. Cambridge Arts Council (CAC), the official arts agency for the City of Cambridge and a Local Cultural Council, annually provides funding to high-quality artistic projects directly benefiting the citizens of Cambridge as well as subsidies for schoolchildren and youth programs to attend professional art productions.  Grants typically range from $200 to $2,000. The CAC Grant Program receives substantial funding from the City of Cambridge and an annual allocation from the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), a state agency, to provide grants through the Local Cultural Council (LCC) program

The grant application deadline is Monday, October 15, 2012 at 5 p.m. The Cambridge Arts Council offers FREE workshops and one-on-one counseling to guide applicants through the grant process. Annually, Cambridge Arts Council awards grants in three categories: Creating & Presenting for artists to present innovative work in Cambridge; Education & Access to teach residents about the arts and to ensure access to the arts for all citizens; and Field Trip Grants (formally known as PASS) which subsidizes tickets for schoolchildren and youth groups to attend professional arts productions. Funding for these programs comes from the City of Cambridge and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Program priorities and funding recommendations are determined through a community input process. Each year, the Cambridge Arts Council convenes a diverse panel of Cambridge artists, arts professionals, and community leaders to review all applications, and to make recommendations for funding to the CAC staff and Advisory Board. Grant recipients will be notified in February 2013.

CAC Grant guidelines are available at www.cambridgeartscouncil.org

The Cambridge Arts Council exists to ensure that the arts remain vital for people living, working and visiting Cambridge. www.cambridgeartscouncil.org or 617-349-4380.
