Cambridge Works, the City’s transitional jobs program for younger residents who haven’t been able to get or keep jobs, celebrated its ninth graduating class on Nov. 8 at Cambridge City Hall.

The program provides a temporary job with the City, and/or other partner employers, while also offering intensive care management, soft skills development and job search assistance to help participants secure an unsubsidized job upon program completion. Cambridge Works is coordinated through the Office of Workforce Development for the Department of Human Services Program (DHSP).

“The graduates spoke movingly about the challenges they faced and the support they received from staff and family,” said Ellen Semonoff, Assistant City Manager for Human Services. “We are so proud of them and of the wonderful staff from Cambridge Works.”

Congratulations to the November 2012 Cambridge Works graduates: Azzim Adamson, Chris Davis, Natasha Davis, Matthew Goodridge, Timothy Jenkins, John Loder, Carlos Ribiero and David Warren.

A special thanks to Worksite supervisors Judy Burton, The Inn at Harvard; Francine DiNatale, Cambridge Police Department;  Keith Fay, Danehy Park, DHSP; Patrick Folan, Cambridge Municipal Golf Course; Julie King, Cambridge Citywide Senior Center; and Tom Cappuccio, Ronald Freeman, Reynold Groves, Pedro Irizarry and Julie Zuis of Spaulding Hospital.
