Who is Your 2013 Cambridge Food Hero
The Cambridge Food Hero Committee is seeking nominations of Cambridge Food Heroes as part of the national celebration of Food Day 2013. Food Day is celebrated annually on Oct. 24 and highlights healthy, affordable and sustainably produced food.
It was initiated by the Washington-based non-profit, Center for Science in the Public Interest http://www.cspinet.org/. In its second year, the Cambridge Food Hero award will honor Cambridge individuals and organizations with a lasting and significant commitment to the fair, healthy and sustainable food culture in the city.
Nominees must live or work in Cambridge and can include food activists, chefs, educators, community leaders, academic leaders, researchers, writers. Mayor Henrietta Davis will present the awards at the Oct. 21 City Council meeting.
