10th Anniversary of Same Sex Marriage 49 Years Together


Former City Clerk Margaret Drury and marries the first "Cambridge" Keith Maynard and Chip
McLaughlin on May 17, 2004. They were technically the second couple to be married. 

Mayor David P. Maher cordially invites you to the 10th Anniversary of  the First Same-Sex Marriage in the United States Friday, May 16, 2014, from 5-7:30 p.m., at Cambridge City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave. Join us for hors d’oeurves, refreshments & live music. Official program scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Featuring remarks by Mary Bonauto lead counsel in Goodridge v. Dept. of Public Health. Justices of the Peace will be present and can perform marriage and renewal ceremonies.  Interested couples should contact the Mayor’s Office in advance at 617-349-4321 or mayor@cambridgema.gov.

The special evening is also presented by The City of Cambridge, Cambridge GLBT Commission and Mass Equality.
