Cambridge Pedestrian Committee Openings

Cambridge City Hall

The City of Cambridge is looking for people who enjoy walking to join its pedestrian committee. Walkers of all ages are encouraged to apply.

The committee reviews major development and roadway plans from a walking perspective. It works with city staff on general policies and practices as well as specific projects. The committee tackles issues such as improving and maintaining sidewalks, traffic calming, public education, enforcement and promotion. It includes citizen members and representatives of city departments.

Committee applicants should be enthusiastic walkers who live in Cambridge, can attend monthly meetings and are willing to work on projects. Appointments are for two years. The committee generally meets on the fourth Thursday of the month, from 6-8 p.m., at the City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway, Cambridge.

To apply for the committee, send a letter by November 10, 2011 describing your interest in pedestrian issues and the kinds of projects or issues you would like to work on to:

c/o Rosalie Anders, Environmental and Transportation Planning Division
