CPD Asks Residents & Businesses to Donate to “Secret Santa for Seniors” Gift Drive

Secret Santa Image
The Cambridge Police Department is seeking donations for its annual Secret Santa for Seniors gift drive. Donations will be accepted now through Monday, December 19th and gifts can be dropped off in the first floor Main Lobby of the Robert W. Healy Public Safety Facility located at 125 Sixth Street.

The holiday season is a joyous time of year for most people, but it can be lonely for many senior citizens in our community who may not have family or friends to celebrate with. Please help the Cambridge Police Department put a smile on seniors’ faces when they are surprised with a holiday gift bag on Christmas Eve by donating a gift item.

Suggested donations include:
• Socks
• Slippers
• Puzzles
• Gloves
• Tea

For a full list of suggested donations, please visit http://bit.ly/SantaSeniors.

Cambridge Police rely solely on the generous donations from Cambridge businesses, community members, and Police Officers to assist us in providing this service. It is our hope to brighten the day of seniors who may be lonely on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with a small gift that lets them know they are not forgotten.

If you are interested in helping distribute gift bags to seniors, CPD is seeking volunteers on the morning of December 24th to help hand deliver gifts to recipients.

For more information about the gift drive or to volunteer to help distribute gifts, please contact Cambridge Police Neighborhood Coordinator Holly Bernier at 617-349-6009.
