Congratulations to Cambridge Police Officers Che Santos and Gary Edwards for being inducted into the Cambridge Athletic Hall of Fame on October 19th.

Officer Santos, a CRLS graduate, was a member of Cambridge Pop Warner championship team; holds three records for most touchdowns, rushing for season, all-purpose yards for season; All Scholastic; college player at Northeastern; volunteer coach at CRLS; and currently serves as a Cambridge Police School Resource Officer.

Officer Edwards was part of the Team Award for the 1972-73 Rindge Technical School boys basketball, state champions. They were a remarkable group of young men who met and defeated high caliber teams; tallest player was 6-1; developed an unbeatable chemistry as a team; first tourney winner since the 60s and last one until CRLS championship.

Retired Cambridge Police Officer Larry Stead, Rindge Tech Class of 1962, was also honored.  He led Rindge to state championship in 1962; All League and All State, 1961 and 1962; scored 119 points in four games for 29.75 per game average, still a state record; awarded numerous commendations as a member of Cambridge Police for 35 1/2 years.
