Telephone Meeting, Tuesday November 5 and Wednesday November 13, 1996 Robert Stevens with Karen Carmean of Library 21

To provide access to all the people of Cambridge and to insure that we manage our resources well, Library 21 is gathering information from as many groups as possible about what the people want.

What would you like in the library?

A. Community Activity Center

  • Celebrations of war events and memories of wars
  • Exhibits of wars and memories of wars and horrors of war on heritage, sacrifices of men and women to preserve our liberties and the storage of these exhibits for future use
  • Patriotic events which highlight the events which tell how our country got there

B. Community Information Center

  • Speakers bureau- veterans are doing this- need for schools and organizations to know about this resource

C.. Formal Education Support

E. Popular Materials Lending Library

  • Computer access to the internet

F. Preschoolers Door to Learning

G. Reference Library

  • Ability to search the internet to find old buddies

  • Ability to research war heroes and battles and specific wars

  • Archives on local war heroes
