Sign up to receive alerts via email &/or text message when Cambridge Police need to notify you about important information. Often this is information about an incident that occurred in your area so that you can pay extra attention to your surroundings to help avoid becoming a victim of crime.
To sign up for Citizen Alerts, visit http://www.CambridgeMA.gov/AlertNetwork & click on the Citizen Observer logo. Once there, click "Sign Up for Alerts" & follow the instructions to register to receive email and text messages alerts from Cambridge Police.

Contacting Your Neighborhood Sergeants:
In order to have a more diverse group of police participating with neighborhood activities, the Neighborhood Sergeants Program was established. The officers involved are assigned to each of the thirteen neighborhoods & each of the five sectors. Please contact them via the e-mails or phone number provided at www.CambridgePolice.org/NeighborhoodSergeants for each neighborhood with questions, comments, or concerns.
Texting Crime Tips:
Do you know of a crime or suspicious activity that should be reported to the police? Send an ANONYMOUS text message to Tip411 (847411). Begin your message with Tip650 & then type your message. You will receive a response from the Cambridge Police with the option to continue communicating. Please remember that this is not a replacement for 9-1-1. If you witness an emergency, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
Calling our Anonymous Crime/Drug Tip Hotline:
The 24-hour Anonymous Drug & Crime Tip Hot Line is a resource for citizens to provide the Investigations Section with information relating to illicit drug use & distribution, as well as other crimes or suspicious situations. If you have information you would like to share with investigators, please call 617-349-3359.
