Cambridge Police Conducting Free Child Seat Inspections and Installations Next Two Saturdays

Car Seat Inspection and Installation
In advance of Child Passenger Safety Week (September 17-23) and National Seat Check Saturday (September 23), the Cambridge Police Department will be conducting child seat inspections and installations at this Saturday’s The Port Community Pride Day and next Saturday’s Danehy Park Family Day.

In order to have a child’s car seat inspected or installed, residents are encouraged to make a reservation prior to the event. Reservations can be made by visiting or calling 617-349-4365. Each inspection or installation will be handled by a certified police officer and will take approximately 45 minutes.

Safety seat inspections or installations are free and open to the public.  Seat Inspection/Installation Dates/Times:
  • The Port Pride Day on Saturday, September 9th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the 119 Windsor St. parking lot.
  • Danehy Park Family Day on Saturday, September 16th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (St. Peter’s Field/Sherman Street Parking Lot)

Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1-13 years old. Many deaths and injuries can be prevented by proper use of car seats, boosters and seat belts and the Cambridge Police Department is proud to offer these valuable services to the community.
