On Wednesday, members of the Cambridge Police Department conducted a warrant sweep, arresting eight on outstanding warrants.  Three of those arrested were on warrants for domestic violence-related offenses:

  • Lindsey M. Fitzgerland, 20, of 244 Pearl Street in Cambridge was arrested on a warrant out of Somerville District Court for A&B w/ Dangerous Weapon.
  • Robert Menize, 69, of 110 Sciarappa Street in Cambridge was arrested on a warrant out of Cambridge District Court for Violate Abuse Prevention Order.
  • James Walker, 19, of 243 Broadway in Cambridge was arrested on a warrant out of Cambridge District Court for A&B.

“The Cambridge Police Department has a ‘zero-tolerance’ policy toward domestic violence,” said Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert C. Haas.  “We take these incidents very seriously and will vigorously investigate and prosecute all cases of dating and family violence.”

Three other individuals were arrested on domestic violence-related warrants in other jurisdictions.  CPD arrested five additional individuals on miscellaneous warrants, bringing the total number of cleared warrants to eleven.

Domestic crimes include all offenses committed against family members, spouses and ex-spouses, roommates, and romantic partners and ex-romantic partners. Although "domestic violence" is generally thought to be synonymous with dating violence (50% of cases) and spousal abuse (20% of cases), it can also encompass violence between family members.
