Cambridge Police Arrest Bank Robber

Suspect arrested in connection with June 18 robbery in Central Square

On July 5, Cambridge Police arrested Scott Blake, 38, of 22 Stoughton Street in Medford.  He was arrested on a warrant out of Cambridge District Court charging him with Unarmed Robbery in connection with a bank robbery which occurred in Cambridge in June.

On June 18, Cambridge Police responded to a bank on Massachusetts Avenue in Central Square after it was reported that a male suspect entered the bank, passed a note, and fled with nearly $300.

Detectives shared photos of the suspect with patrol officers familiar with the area, and Blake was soon identified and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

“Information sharing is crucial to effective law enforcement,” said Deputy Superintendent Paul Ames.  “Thanks to the collaboration between our officers and detectives, we were able to apprehend a wanted bank robber and bring closure to the business and employees who were victimized.”

The details contained above are allegations.  The suspect is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
